Welcome to one of the sweetest weekly virtual potluck get-together ever! Yes indeed — it is Sugar Free Sunday! We host it every Sunday to exchange incredible sugar free recipes. Inspiration to start the week right? You bet!

Hello there Partner! Have you ever wondered what would happen if your food ever had a face off. Who would win if your salad dressing had a sugar showdown with your mustard? Well I do. I always wonder who would win.

Today’s competitor — Heinz Ketchup.

You all know Heinz Ketchup.. Quite the beloved in the United States. Generally found in the midst of crispy fries or spread thinly on top of a hamburger patty. Some call it tomato sauce. I prefer “ketchup”. Yes – Heinz Ketchup is a household name in America. So let’s put it up to the sugar challenge.

** Drumroll Please **
WHO HAS MORE SUGAR CHALLENGE (gram for gram.. ounce for ounce)

Guess which one of these had more sugar. The answers are at the end of all the face offs:

Heinz Ketchup vs. Baskin Robin’s Vanilla Ice Cream

Heinz Ketchup vs. Coca-Cola

Heinz Ketchup vs. Starbuck’s Blueberry Scone

If you guessed Heinz Ketchup to have more sugar for all of the face off’s above – you win!!! Congratulations!!!!

If you didn’t guess Heinz Ketchup.. well Congratulations!! You are now aware. Please use this information wisely.

I didn’t realise Heinz Ketchup would have more sugar than Coke! I shared my Spicy Lentils recipe today! Have a lovely week!

I was pretty surprised as well! I had to redo my calculations a couple of times to make sure my math was right. :) Great recipe btw – I’m a big fan of lentils!

I knew ketchup had added sugar in it, but this is disturbing! It just goes to show how carefully we need to know what is in our food.

I agree. Did you know the original recipe for tomato ketchup didn’t have *any* sugar? We’ve become quite the sugar society in the last 50 years.
